Account Director

Location: Chicago, Illinois
The account director provides leadership to the account management team in defining marketing objectives and creates the strategic plan for using holistic communications to achieve the client’s objectives. They are the day-to-day account owner. They are responsible for providing strategic leadership and building the accounts. They act as an advisor for internal and external clients.
  • Acts as primary client advisor for strategic marketing and communications issues
  • Draws on deep knowledge of the integrated communications industry and theory to create innovative, comprehensive marketing solutions that build the client’s brands
  • Creates a climate in which people can do their best and develops individuals to help succeed
  • Continuously generates, pursues and produced innovative ideas for improving the client’s and agency’s strategic competitive advantage
  • Gains support/ownership for ideas and projects plans. Persuades clients to explore new ideas move forward on projects
  • Grows revenue and manages account P&L
  • Preservers to achieve agency financial goals and client business objectives; consistently goes beyond expectations and takes initiative
  • Guides career development of AC/AAE/AM/AS
  • 7-10 years past agency experience
  • Experience with insurance clients a plus
  • Prior management experience
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Superb internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to put together a solid presentation (working with teammates)
  • Key contributor during senior client meetings
  • Aptitude to quickly sort information to identify opportunities, alternative approaches, anticipates trends and analyzes connections to create innovative solutions 
  • Team player - dependable, respectful, and communicative
